FAQ
Basic Information
What is FunderThunder?
FunderThunder is taking the power of the Internet to reach large numbers of people through social media like tools and using that power to help fund various projects and ventures which otherwise might never happen.
This company was founded by a group of like minded entrepreneurs who have cumulatively spent over a hundred years raising money for various companies and projects. The team has experience in ecommerce, entertainment, logistics and inventing new products. We feel that a platform like FunderThunder will help new ventures get their start and hopefully improve the economy by creating new jobs in the United States and around the world.

What type of projects are appropriate for Funder Thunder?
The projects and ventures can be commercial projects like new inventions and products or creative endeavors like music albums or films. At this time we are unable to work with charitable groups at this time, we hope to begin working with them shortly.
What will help make people support my project?
People need to be engaged with your project, they need to feel that contributing money to your project provides them with a benefit as well. A good starting place is a series of escalating awards for larger and larger individual contributions.
Contributors also like to be able to share in your experience of succeeding. Who does not know someone who talks about they helped a friend or family member succeed at some goal. That same dynamic is work here but on a broader scale. We help the world empower you to reach you goal and the world gets to tell everyone how they helped make it happen. So in your project listing make sure to explain to potential contributors how they can help you become a success and be a part of it as well.

How much should I ask for and what is too big or too little a goal?
The appropriate funding goal is a different equation for each project. You need to make sure you have figured out your budget to make your project happen, and don’t forget to figure in our fees to the amount of your goal so you don’t run short of contributions to make it happen.
Small projects are great for a platform like FunderThunder and can often be funded quickly if everything is done correctly in setting up your project and the contributors feel it is worthy of their money. Unfortunately from time to time what the contributors feel is worthy and you as the project proponent feel is worthy can be vastly different. This can sometimes be fixed by redoing your project listing other times there is great value to be gained from learning a project is not deemed valuable before you have spent a tremendous amount of time and money on it.
As to what projects may be too big for FunderThunder feel free to see how other similar projects are doing on FunderThunder and use them as your guide. Do not make the mistake of assuming that the past projects are an upper limit on your success, we hope to be continually growing the reach of our platform which should allow for progressively larger projects being funded all of the time.

Why do I not receive any of my funding until I have reached my goal?
The reason we ask you to determine how much money you need to make your project a reality is that no one else can figure out how much money you really need. Then to make sure that our contributor’s money is spent correctly we don’t release any contributions until the funding goal is met. Once the goal is met we charge additional contributions when they are pledged. Funder Thunder will not be sending you any funds until the project is fully funded.
What does FunderThunder get for running their platform?
We receive five (5%) percent of the contributions for our base fee. We may from time to time offer additional marketing opportunities which anyone can decide if they want to participate or not. We take no ownership interest in any of the projects on the platform, unless we decide to run a project ourselves in which case we will let you about it. We also pass along a flat 3.5% percent fee of the total contributions. This fee covers the cost of processing the contributions. This is the fee is charged to us by our credit card/payment processing partner.
